The songbird of new orleans

Robin Barnes' Debut Album: Louisiana Love

This isn’t just an album, it’s a piece of Louisiana. From the rhythms that raised me to the stories that shaped me, Louisiana Love is my heart, my heritage, and my home, woven into every note. This project honors generations before me while celebrating the sound of right now. And I cannot wait for you to hear it.

My debut album will be a living tapestry woven from the songs, stories, and rhythms that define eight generations of family in Louisiana. It carries the voices of our culture: Creole French lullabies, the chants of Mardi Gras Indians, the fire of zydeco, the sway of Cajun fiddle, the call of gospel, New Orleans jazz, and the celebration of brass bands.
Together they form a fabric strong enough to hold the weight of our memories and yet is light enough to carry joy into the future.

Robin Barnes blends jazz, funk, soul and second-line energy into a sound that is unmistakably New Orleans

Robin Barnes has performed on major stages across the U.S. and internationally, including the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, French Quarter Festival, Sundance Film Festival and London’s Royal Opera House, as well as performances throughout Europe, Asia and Australia. Whether igniting festival crowds or commanding intimate rooms, her performances channel the heartbeat of her hometown.

Contemporary crossover singer Robin Barnes is more than an award-winning artist, she's also one of the city of New Orleans' biggest ambassadors. With an electric live performance and a voice that is as powerful with a whisper as it is with a bellow, Robin proudly carries the official distinction of the Songbird of New Orleans. When performing with the Fiya Birds, Robin's sound is more Chaka Khan meets Ella Fitzgerald. Performing as Da Lovebirds, Robin and her husband Pat Casey are a soulful R&B duo that brings a sultry, intimate vibe.

By turns velvety/gossamer and belting/raw, mixing R&B and jazz, Robin’s voice beguiles, drawing you into each song. And with her warm, inviting personality, that’s a place any audience will want to go.
