Robin Barnes singing

New Orleans’ Songbird

Robin Barnes is known as one of the best contemporary jazz singers in the Crescent City. This powerhouse female vocalist is stunning audiences with her sultry blend of funky jazz, soul and R&B, a true tribute to her hometown of New Orleans.

Named "The Songbird of New Orleans", Robin has been a performer for most of her life, starting at age 6. Barnes' voice delights as much as it surprises. On stage, Barnes is dynamic, able to switch effortlessly between soft, soulful crooning, to a fiery bellow that has made her city and the world take notice.

Her husky, billowy cloud of a voice harkens memories of those big-natured golden jazz heroines, a little Ella, an early Billie Holiday, the snap and sass of a Bessie Smith, infinite possibilities to adulterate the system in a Lalah Hathaway — jazz and gospel, blues and soul, all in one powerful punch.
